HOW TO OBTAIN PRESS CREDENTIALS

If you wish to obtain credentials to cover the American Cinematheque Award Presentation Honoring Matt Damon on March 27, 2010 at the Beverly Hilton, YOUR ASSIGNMENT EDITOR MUST SEND A WRITTEN REQUEST ON THE LETTERHEAD OF THE MEDIA OUTLET YOU WISH TO COVER FOR. The deadline to make your request is Monday, March 15 at 6:00 PM. Our fax # is 323.461.9737 or if you cannot get thru on that line try 323.467-0163. No verbal or e-mail requests can be honored. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday just prior to the event, no exceptions can be made with late requests.

Your fax must include the following:

The name of the OUTLET (publication, channel, website, radio station, or ???). If your outlet is not widely known in the United States or is new, please give a brief description. Space is severely limited so PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO JOURNALISTS WHO HAVE AN ACTUAL ASSIGNMENT from a print, electronic or broadcast outlet. (For example: Photographer Lois Lane from Kryptonite photo agency will shoot for The Daily Planet newspaper. Her story will appear the Monday following the event.)

The name of the actual photographer, crew members, etc. that will attend the event and as much contact info. as possible (local phone, fax, address, e-mail).

The name of the assignment editor, photo agency contact, etc. and as much contact info. as possible (phone, fax, address, e-mail).

VERY IMPORTANT. Please provide links to coverage from the previous year if you have covered this event previously OR hard copies. We need to know who picked up your photos (where they ran).

You will get a confirmation by FAX. Receipt of this fax does NOT mean that you have been cleared to cover the event. You will receive notification of your specific ACCESS around one week prior to the event via phone, fax or e-mail (please specify your preference). Tip sheets will be available after the new date is announced and will be automatically sent to anyone who has made a request to cover the Ball. A press release will also be attached.

Please note:

No cameras will be allowed inside the cocktail party or Ballroom under any circumstances.

It is unlikely that one-on-one interviews with the honoree or show participants will be granted.

There will not be an electronic feed of the show. Broadcast outlets who want selected clips can request them in advance and they will be delivered TBA. You must indicate the address/contact you want them messengered to and whether you want Beta or DVD. A form will be available to fill out.

Please do not call to check on the status of your press request. We cannot call everyone back. If you provided us with a phone, fax or e-mail, you will hear from us as soon as we have further details. Incomplete requests will be disregarded.
