| Encounters at the Edge of Sanity: A
Tribute to the Films of Werner Herzog
This is an Egyptian Theatre Exclusive!
The films of director Werner
Herzog are a mesmerizing combination of spiritual self-isolation, obsession
with the natural world, and the beautiful dance of slowly creeping insanity - "Every
man for himself, and God against all," as one title puts it. Notorious for his own
acts of Ahab-like rebellion - dragging a ship across a mountain for FITZCARRALDO,
hypnotizing the cast of HEART OF GLASS - Herzog has written and produced nearly all of his
own films, defying not only nature but also the industry. Please join us for a tribute to
the acclaimed German director with a two-night double feature program of NOSFERATU
THE VAMPYRE and COBRA VERDE, and STROSZEK and WOYZECK.
We are thrilled to welcome Werner Herzog to the
Egyptian Theatre!
